Greentown Chocolate Glass Cactus Cracker Jar

Description

Made by Greentown Glass in 1902-1903, this is a chocolate glass cactus pattern cracker jar. It measures just about 8 1/2" tall to the top of the finial. As is typical with glass of this time period, there are ash inclusions, popped air bubbles and cooling/stress lines. Additionally, there is a chip on the finial and a couple other small chips on the base. There is also a line on one of the ridges where I think the glass did not fill in completely when it was made - I included a close up. I think at somepoint this piece may have a had some thing applied to the glass to bring out the highlights of the pattern as there is some residual dark highlights in the glass.
