DESCRIPTION:
This is a
one NEW
, complete brake cable.
It is in the factory package.
The brand is SUNLITE.  It is called a universal brake cable because it fits almost all bicycles, but there may be some it does not fit.  Please look at the ends and see it your bicycle needs one of those kinds of ends.
Also included is 2 new cable end tips. and 2 new ferrules.
The end tips are silver color and are made of aluminum alloy.  An end tip goes on the end of the inner cable and you mash it with pliers so it will stay on.
The 2 extra ferrules are made of steel and are silver color.
There is a ferrule on one end of the cable housing.  We will send 2 extra ferrules in case you need them.  They are for 5 mm diameter cable housing.
FACTORY'S DESCRIPTION:
Galvanized steel inner cable.
Standard 5 mm diameter housing
Length, inner cable: 1650 mm (about 65 inches)
Length, outer housing:  1525 mm  (about 60 inches)
The inner cable
has both a barrel end and a ball end to fit almost all kinds of brake levers. You cut off the end of the inner cable that you don't need.
The inner cable is made of standard galvanized steel strands that are wound around each other just like all of the cable that you have seen.  One of the pictures shows the width of the barrel end.
This cable has the end button for the outer cable that fits different kinds of brake levers. Most ATB and Mountain Bike brake levers do not use the end button, but some bicycles brake levers must have an end button.   You can see the end button in the picture. The end button fits 2 different size holes that are in different brake levers. The small part of the end button is about 4 mm diameter. The larger part of the end button fits holes that are about 8 mm diameter.  The end of the outer cable that goes into the end button does not have a ferrule and does not need one when you use the end button.  If your  brake lever does not need an end button, you can throw it in the trash.

The outer housing
is made of spiraled steel that is covered by black vinyl. The inside of the spiraled steel housing.
It is NOT lined with teflon like some brake cable housing.  It is like brake cable used to be before they started lining some of them.
The diameter of the outer housing is 5 mm, which is the standard diameter for brake outer cable housing.
The black housing is
about
60" long
. You will need to cut the housing and the inner cable to the length you need.
