    Vintage Mexican Pottery Bird Pheasant #2 Jorge Wilmot
    Artes Folklorico presents a vintage Mexican pottery bird or pheasant by the renowned, Jorge Wilmot.
    Although born in Mexico, Wilmot trained in Europe and was a visionary who combined both European and Asian techniques of production.
    He set up a studio in the late 1950s in Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico.
    Wilmot became famous worldwide for his stoneware pottery.
    This bird is a perfect example.
    The bird features wonderful graphics and glazing and a whimsical face.
    The piece is signed along the bottom with Wilmot’s characteristic, ‘W.’
    The sculpture is in excellent vintage condition (see photographs).
    The piece measures 5-1/2 inches in height, 4-inches in length and 3-1/2 inches in width.
