Vintage/antique No. 8 D.R. BARTON BROADHEAD HATCHET/AXE. Rochester, New York.  The name and location of the manufacturer is stamped in an unusual spot as compared to the majority of hatches/axes.  It appears to have been sharpened very little; if at all!  The chopping surface contact area is great. It does not appear that it some serious hammer usage.  Several chips out of the hammer end as pictured.  Good strong handle with possible original steel wedge. NICE.
